Flesh and Blood - Graham Masterton

A crazed father chops the heads off a couple of children with a scythe and fails the third when the police get involved.

As it turns out, a descendant of mythological Janek Green, a sort of vegetable monster man.

To add to the horror, the brain scan of the decapitated three year old son is used in an experiment in humanising giant human organ compatible pigs. And is not pleased about it.

All this with the backdrop of a charismatic senator attempting to get a bill passed to ban cruelty to animals, like eating them, which is problematic for this hog farming country setting.
