A book of several sections. The first is concerned with the enmity between a twin Prince and Princess. The children of the woman the ruler of the Kufr actually liked. The other prince is the son of the current Queen. Neither King nor Queen has managed to have the other killed yet. Some dead royals coming soon though.
Then there is Corvus and his army slowly taking over bits of the Empire - until finally his opponent is forced to take the massive general levy army into the field with him and fight. Small problem for Corvus is being outnumbered five or six to one. Macht generals have done that before, though, including an army with Rictus in it.
