God Stalk is an interesting novel. A fantasy novel set in a city and with a ton of stuff thrown in. No interminable farmboy wanderings or 7 page descriptions of a pants leg.
Jame, a little like Telzey Amberdon has that je ne sais quoi -- and you certainly don't know what she is going to get up to next. Stealing pants or killing gods. Exotic dancing or cat rescuing.
So certainly not dull and has a bit of charm as her heritage and superpowers begin to catch up with her.

Not as interesting as the first. Here the story leaves Tai-Tastagon and Jame and her brother get involved in a far more standard sort of secondary world fantasy war with the usual that such involves.
