From Within - John M. Dow

The author states that From Within is an homage to 70s and 80s horror and it certainly comes across that way. Or if you wanted some later work that this would be reminiscent of, then Mark Chadbourn's Age of Misrule. Both Celtic flavoured horror.

Here, however, the battleground is a smaller. A small Scottish town that has been a periodic warring place for two celtic deities, Anu and Arawyn. Three people are drawn here, two men and a woman and a local boy is also involved. Hellhounds, zombies and spirit avatars collide with a handful of firearms as the people realise the town is inescapable and they have to face their fate.

A well done book.
