The Rough Guide to Space Opera: M. John Harrison - Blue Tyson

M. John Harrison is a writer of science fiction, fantasy and other stuff, and also a magazine editor with New Worlds. He has written three space opera novels, The Centauri Device, Light and Nova Swing. The former features a dull, low-rent spacer and the SF Site puts it more eloquently than I would "the modern reader is left with an empty polemic, artfully crafted but still hollow." Light has horrible plot problems, likely deliberately, and was as still a waste of time, if a little more interesting. Certainly won't waste my time with the third. Definitely avoid.
