The Rough Guide to Space Opera: David G. Hartwell and Kathryn Cramer - Blue Tyson

David G. Hartwell and Kathryn Cramer are a married teamup of editors of science fiction, fantasy and horror, with Cramer an occasional writer. They are most well known by readers for the series of Year's Best Science Fiction and Fantasy volumes that are now in double figures.

As well as republishing some stories of interest in anthologies, they also produced a fascinating and huge anthology called the Space Opera Renaissance, tracing it through its roots up until the present time for the book in 2006. Flawed in some ways with its unwarranted inclusion of more Americans than warranted, and large novel type chunks or slight humour pieces it is still very interesting. Also might not be crapping on about this here if I hadn't read it. About lost hope for an ebook version though.
