Fantasy and Science Fiction 684 - Gordon Van Gelder

At 3.42, right on the standard by one of these mags. The opening story by McMullen, is the best, and the rest is pretty consistent. This one is definitely more of a fantasy issue, even Sterling.

There are some book reviews by Elizabeth Hand, and is of the eminently defensible opinion that wizard school would be much better with sex, drugs and rock 'n roll. Drugs including booze, of course. Talking of Grossman's Magician book, that is.

Lucius Shepard says they probably didn't need to bother with Watchmen, but I'll take it. A good mark for him I think, for Hollywood.

Overall, very readable.
