A bloody battle between the Amazons and Ares ends with an upper hand for the former. Hippolyta is about to literally hand her former lover his head, when Zeus intervenes to save his life.
This leads to his imprisonment, and a gift for Hippolyta, a new home, away from man, and eventually a magical daughter.
All this changes when a group of American pilots end up in a dogfight over the hidden Themiscyra, one of whom of course is Steve Trevor.
