Bar None is a supernatural postapocalyptic homage to beer.
Each chapter has the title of a particular brew.
It opens up with a few surviving people holed up in a manor with a well stocked cellar, but supplies are getting a little low, particularly in the beer department.
A stranger turns up one night, and they ply him with food and grog while talking about what he has seen. It turns out that night he appears to all of them pretty much simultaneously for a chat, something that is rather impossible.
Basically, he has told them about the pub at the end of the world - the 'Bar None'.
So, Road Trip time. Apart from the millions of corpses, etc., it appears that are things out there that are not human, even if the group has not given them names. So it isn't just a matter of driving down there with something over the nose to word off corpse-stench.
