Blood Bound - Patricia Briggs

Not as interesting as the first book, this time Mercy is asked for help by a vampire.

Apparently he believes her abilities will allow her resistance to vampire wiles in a situation where she will be overlooked.

This leads straight to a vampire sorcerer massacre scene, and the individual responsible being the problem the sensible werewolves, vampires and fae around the place would like to deal with.

Cops, too. No-one likes an evil sorcerer.

There's a lot of less interesting garden variety for these days werewolf pack this, Alpha that, female the other thing that lacks the narrative tension present in the first novel, particularly in the middle. It improves in the latter third, so probably a bit long leading up to the 'its vampire hunting time' denouement.

3.5 out of 5
