Stories Of Your Life and Others - Ted Chiang

The extremely unprolific but masterful writer's collection. Although by this time he probably has enough for another half a book, I suppose. If you can manage to stay alive a few more years or so, we may get a second.

Anyway, high quality, heading into 4 territory, if not quite getting there, but certainly no average stories to be found here. Understand and Story of Your Life are both top-class. The average mark is more impressive given that this is not a best of, it is just all there is.

He's Egan-class, if you want to put it like that, in quality, if not in quantity.

A man with brain damage is given a hormone treatment that has the effect of increasing his intelligence, only in this case it doesn't wear off, but keeps going.
