The Solaris Book Of New Fantasy - George Mann

Just an average anthology at 3.28. However, it does have a few things going for it. The leadoff story by Chadbourn is strong, and the best in the book. Erikson wins the most bizarre award, easily, to finish off.

This is a mass-market book designed to have mass appeal and distribution it would appear, and as such, it does have several examples of the mass market high fantasy and urban fantasy style of story that can be seriously lacking in some other fantasy anthologies. People that like the standard fantasy trilogy may well find some stories they like here that I didn't, as much, not really being a reader of such.

Also, the cover fails to have a chick in a flouncy dress on it, which it seems is almost de rigeur. So there is a chance younger male readers won't be embarassed to be seen with this publication, given the nifty looking dragon.

So, overall, 500 pages of decent fantasy stories for a good price

I used to find these amusing. Now I find them sad and pathetic. I think you need to find another schtick.

Sure, that is up to you.

The day will come when I don't find you worth reading, either, like most writers.
