Great Tales Of Science Fiction - Martin H. Greenberg and Robert Silverberg

A rather hyperbolic title, and rather a misnomer, not much of this is of the masterpiece variety. Classic, perhaps may have been better. Pretty easy to tell it is not the former when it only average just 3.50.

An anthology designed to apparently link the old science fiction to the magazine science fiction tradition. The editors mention a lot of bad pulp SF stories were written way back when (and of course one of the editors contributed quite a few of such, neglecting to mention that :)).

Stating that this is not supposed to be a text book, but enjoyable, that start their journey with Edgar Allan Poe.

There's also a version of Karel Capek's R.U.R. play included here, too.
