Swamps Of Venus - Leigh Brackett

The second book collection in Baen's Leigh Brackett Solar System omnibus, collecting a bunch of sterling tales about Venus. The Coalation wants to make the planet fit for people from Earth and Mars, which involves clearing out the swamp habitats of the natives. The problem with this is they don't necessarily want to go. There are stories shown from both sides of this conflict.

The final collaborative story with Leigh Bradbury is more in the John Carter tradition, as a man's mind is brought into the body of a warrior who has been a a pivotal figure in a siege. Witch queens, warriors, zombies, corsairs and more in this great adventure.

What's an ugly legionnaire want? Women, cash, booze and nice weather. Treason perhaps not the best strategy.
