Asimov's 333 334 - Gardner Dozois

Novellas here at beginning, middle and end, and you can mostly not care too much about the rest.

The intro has the story of the old SF mag editor being investigated because they thought they knew too much about the atomic bomb because of stories, and there is a humongoid amount of reviews at the end, one of the lengthier being Altered Carbon, and mentions of non-fiction by Sterling, and a book of letters from Lovecraft to Wadrei which sounds somewhat interesting.
